ABL2x-Redux: Now Available (Native Apple Silicon & Windows 10+)
We have ported ABL2 to the modern JUCE framework to ensure long-term compatibility. This release, titled ABL2x-Redux, provides native support for Apple Silicon and updated Windows 10/11 environments.
By rebuilding the plugin from the ground up, we have maintained the original ABL2 signal path and DSP characteristics while improving host integration and stability.
Technical Specifications:
- Architecture: Native Apple Silicon (AU/VST3) and Windows 10+ (VST3).
- DSP: Accurate 303 circuit emulation with integrated distortion and high-pass filter (low-cut).
- Sequencer: Internal step sequencer with per-pattern shuffle (4/4 and triplet modes).
- MIDI Implementation: Full MIDI CC control with Learn function, MIDI pattern export, and MIDI output (Stand-alone/VST).
- Host Sync: Sample-accurate synchronization for VST and AU hosts.
- Legacy Support: ReBirth pattern import functionality.
- Skinning: Includes Yellow and Blue/Gray skins; compatible with legacy ABL2 skin assets with minor adjustments.
- Operation: Features two MIDI modes (Pattern and Note).
Note: ABL2x-Redux is a standalone plugin build. It is not an in-place binary swap for previous ABL2 versions. Users will need to instantiate the new plugin within their DAW projects.
Licensing: Existing ABL2 license keys are valid for ABL2x-Redux.
