Hey,

I'm a noob to this forum so I'm hoping this makes sense and I'm sorry if the question has been asked many times before.

I'm running Ableton 8 for OSX as my DAW and using Bassline Pro to create some sounds.

I'm trying to automate a parameter in a MIDI clip, lets say a cutoff or decay, I automate it by drawing in what I want to happen in the 'arrangement view'. When I play back the MIDI clip there seems to be some conflict and the 'session view' button comes on (this is the red button on the menu bar which comes on when you are launching loops) and stops the automation in the MIDI clip from playing in the 'arrangement view'. This also happens if I try to use a midi controller and record the automation that way.

Is there anyway around this without having to record the MIDI clip into an audio clip as I want to be able to edit the automation at a later date.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cool

Copy the automation you made in arrangement view into the MIDI Clip. Then bring that MIDI Clip into session view.
