| It would be really nice if saved sessions also saved the decay/accent/reson/cutoff/etc, settings and i didn't have to keep a notebook and manually adjust all teh knobs every time I wanna work on a saved session. also possibly being able to have those settings adjustable from step to step on the synth would really broaden what can be achieved with this application. still a great application as is... |

I second this. The app Noise.io has already done this, so it is possible, |

First off, congrats on what is an amazing app. love the sound of Technobox.
a few wants, mostly mentioned before such as Delay and Distortion and parameter position saving.
one other thing that i think would be good is something that lets you record and edit automation. recording in realtime and then being able to edit with a step sequencer would be great.
finally - any plans for a techno box vst? |

First off hi every one - just signed up etc.
Secondly great app - I now look forward to long bus journeys. Now to business. Feature wish list in order (a lot of these have been mentioned before but I'd like to add my voice anyway):
1) A way to get the patterns off my phone and into a real 909. Also cool would be a way to get the synth patterns out (maybe into a midi file - represent slide as legato).
2) Better track write mode. Two thoughts on this. Firstly realtime recording - ie set the sequencer in record mode and it remembers your pattern changes until you press stop. Secondly why not implement track write as a third display mode. This would give more room for fat fingers to hit the right buttons quickly. (As a super added bonus, after realtime recording a sequence of patterns, allow over dubbing of synth control changes).
3) Pattern chaining - implement it like a real 909 - a perfect application for multi-touch. Hold down the beginning and end patterns in a chain together and the sequencer loops between them.
4) Pattern length and scale - I know you've just implemented variable pattern length for the 303, but I'd like this for the drum machine too, but I'd like it like a 909 - ie set the last step of the pattern and use chaining to get patterns longer than 16 steps. Personally I find this way easier to edit. I'd also like to be able to set the scale (in 909 terminology) for a pattern - ie the step size - 32, 24, 16, 12. Again like a real 909/606/808.
5) Total accent - as implemented on the 909.
6) Audio bounce down and export.
For the record distortion and other fx don't figure in my wish list for now. I'd rather have a tool that can capture musical ideas quickly and develop them into the bare bones of a song structure. TechnoBox is 70% there but is lacking in features to create larger structures.
7) Oh yeah - more pattern memory.
Lastly I just want to emphasize what a great application this is - in my opinion the best for the iPhone by far. |

|
|
Mike.... Thanks for the Technobox 1.1 Release that I got last night. It's great. Love the extra steps for the synth lines, the saving of parameters are a GREAT addition to the App.
Now that I've gotten to play around on it a bit, I would like to add a RFE (Request for Enhancement) for the Drum synth patterns to be longer as well.
I'm guessing UI wise, you would need to add a "<" and ">" button to set the end of a step and pressing it would make a new set of 16 pads show up.
Thanks,
Dave |

|
|
Currently if have my iPhone playing a track and I launch TechnoBox the track fades out. Would it be possible to have iPod playing in the background while using TechnoBox?
I would like to have a playback-track playing as a mp3 and jamming on top of it with TechnoBox. I know it can be done - I have Bebot and it plays tracks in the background if you have one playing - but does it take too much CPU to play songs in background for TB?
I can't believe I couldn't find this request anywhere else...
P.S. Thanks for the incredible piece of work anyway. FYI: Me and my colleagues are jamming almost everyday after work with iPhones using TechnoBox connected thru some amplifiers. The generated groove is awesome and the 303's are singin' fatty as h*ll thanks to you!
Keep it up! |

I noticed that entering exact BPM's can be tricky. Rolling your finger slowly helps, but touching it also obscures the display, so that's not super handy either. How about double tap to enter a BPM manually? I know it would be ugly as hell to pop up the numeric keyboard, but in some situations it would be very useful. _________________ Macbook Pro 5,1 2,4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA 9400/9600M 256 MB; dual boot running OS X 10.7.x / 10.6.x. iPhone 1st gen. 8GB (2 x); iPhone 3GS. |

Thanks for the great app! Here are a couple of my feature wishes.
I would like to be able to deselect pattern so the function can be used as mute. When an illuminating (selected) pattern is tapped, deselect it and stop the audio of the instrument.
Being able to mix two drum machine sounds in a pattern would be nice.
Is it possible to have individual volume control for drum sounds? (like to have global volume and individual volume)
A song should remember all the settings of patterns (303 params, tempo etc)
Some way to up/down load songs so we can share others songs (local or via web)

This is implemented in version 1.1 and later. What version are you running? |

| I have to reiterate, I would love a way to export my song files from the session manager, I use Beat maker a lot and love the ability to upload my songs to my pc via wi-fi. maybe even being able to download short wav files to be used as the sound basis for the 303 ? I would even more for the basic program if it had these capabilites... |
