|
|
Hi Mike,
I got an idea to improve my workflow and perhaps the workflow of others, too.
I love to use patterns in half-time, so I made a Notepad++ macro that changes .pat files to half-time. All it does is to copy every step and insert the same one step behind and ties the first with a slide to the duplicated step.
It would be great to have that in the pattern menu inside ABL2 without having to export, change and import files.
On patterns with more than 32 steps it could just add a new pattern in the next slot. That would of course need a warning message for the user that it overwrites the next pattern. Or it just dismisses all notes over 32. Or an undo option.

| Adding a expand feature to the pattern menu would not be hard to implement. Can you please grab the latest ABL2 release with midi out and give it a go, and I might be able to add the half time feature soon? |

hi mike, i'm not sure what you mean, i'm always up to date with the versions, so i already have the latest.
the midi-out is great for triggering other synths. but tbh i prefer the internal seq and the pattern mode for ABL2, that's why i use my macro to get the half-time patterns. _________________ ThinkPad T500,Core 2 Duo T9600 (2x2,8GHz)/4GB RAM/Radeon HD3650/FireWire 410/Win7 x64

This would be great, the x0xb0x with sokkos firware does this, very nice. Also a reverse pattern option, again if simple, would be nice.

Oh, and one thing would be absolutely amazing: I'd love to have the advanced pattern randomizer from ABL Pro/ASM in ABL2.
Merry christmas and a happy new year!! _________________ ThinkPad T500,Core 2 Duo T9600 (2x2,8GHz)/4GB RAM/Radeon HD3650/FireWire 410/Win7 x64

*bump*
Hi Mike,
since you plan the 64bit update, I thought I could bump this up again. I think these features wouldn't be too hard to realize, but would optimize workflow for a lot of users (at least for me ).
1. Half-time menu option for the current pattern
2. the pattern randomizer from ABL Pro
Thanks, and I wish everyone a great 2012!! _________________ ThinkPad T500,Core 2 Duo T9600 (2x2,8GHz)/4GB RAM/Radeon HD3650/FireWire 410/Win7 x64
