AudioRealism Bass Line 2 (ABL2) FAQ

Q: What is the copy-protection scheme?
The software itself isn't copy-protected. Each .dll or user key is unique and registered to the users name.  We put our trust in you to not spread the software. Support developers and not piracy by ensuring your software is registered and not cracked.

Q: Can I transfer my license to another user?
Licenses can be transferred to another user on request, however we reserve the right to deny such a transfer.

Q: Is it safe to order with my credit card? What about giving out my e-mail adress for delivery?
We use Share-it! to handle transactions. Share-it! are well known for secure handling of payment information using SSL. AudioRealism will not give your e-mail adress to anyone, it is only used to delivery the product and ordering information.

Q: Do I have to pay for updates?
Updates are free within the same major version. For example 1.x will be freely updated to 1.5. To obtain an update you need you registration code and an e-mail adress where it is sent. Updates will be announced  when available.

Q: If I lose my registration code can I still obtain updates?
If you lost the registration code you probably lost the whole software. We  keep detailed user records so as long as you don't lose your real name there shouldn't be a problem obtaining a new registration code / software.

Q: How long does it take to get the software?
The software or license key will be emailed to you a few hours after ordering when the registration process is completed.

Q: Does ABL come in a box?
No, it is shipped via e-mail. You need a good e-mail adress to be able to order ABL (Yahoo and Hotmail won't be accepted by our payment service).

Q: Are Freebee VSTi and AudioRealism Bass Line different products?
The Bass Line is based on different technology and no components of  Freebee were reused, so technically there is no Freebee VSTi. ABL does not contain any extra machines (like the drum sequencer) that Freebee did. People on the internet have been referring to ABL as Freebee VSTi and AudioRealism has no objection to this. Hey if you bought it, call it what you want.

Q: ABL doesn't have a tie mode like the original Bass Line. What's up with this?

All possible patterns can be created without the tie command. Just create two notes of the same pitch and enter a slide between them.

Q: Why does ABL have an 18dB and 24dB filter? Which one is best?

The number denotes the slope of the filter cutoff in decibels per octave. The 18dB/octave filter (modeled after the original Bass Line) has a brighter sound than the 24dB filter (which is generic, but with full range). Which one sounds best is up to you to decide.
