AudioRealism Bass Line PRO 1.0 - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is ABL Pro a 303, 202 or an emulation of any other box?
A: ABL Pro is not a strict emulation of anything, although it can reproduce the sound of some of the vintage boxes. For strict 303 sounds, use ABL.

Q: What are the similarities and differences between ABL and ABL Pro?
A: ABL Pro and ABL share the sawtooth and squarewave oscillators, however in ABL Pro they have been extended in range to cover the whole keyboard. ABL Pro also has an extra set of oscillators which have lower cpu consumption. ABL Pro also has different filters, although one of these filters (the legacy 18dB) is similar to ABL's. Also the accent differs between ABL Pro and ABL.

Q: Is ABL Pro an emulation of the Devilfish?
A: No. The term "Devilfish" has become synonym with the notion of a modified 303. Not all modified 303's are devilfishes.

Q: Why is it called "Bass Line", its obvious from the interface it can do much more?
A: Correct, it can do much more. It does leads, basses, sequences etc. The reason it has "Bass Line" in its name is because it has it's heritage in the original Bass Line.

Q: Will there be an upgrade/crossgrade deal for previous ABL users.
A: Yes, there will. All registered ABL users will receive an e-mail with the deal.

Q: Does ABL Pro replace ABL in any way? Will ABL still be developed (updated)?
A: It does not replace ABL at all. These are seperate products. Standard ABL will be updated.

Q: I don't like patch cables. Can I hide them and perform routing?
A: Yes, routing can be done while the patch cables are hidden. Although it is much more difficult to visualize what is going on with the signal.

Q: Will there be an Audio Unit version?
A: Yes, the Audio Unit version is scheduled for release after the initial release of VST versions. Mac users get both VST and AU versions when available. Meanwhile the VST version works wrapped with fxpansion's VST->AU adapter.
